of the superstitions you know (or follow)?

I never walk thru/under an open ladder.

In my life I decided to prove that superstitions are wrong and I was successful at doing that. As a young person I walked under ladders, let black cats walk in front of my path, I intentionally broke mirrors, and walked on cracks in the cement, and sometimes used the number 13 just to try it out.....absolutely nothing happened as a result of those.

So in my estimation, either superstitions don't work, or they only work for those who afraid of them and who have programmed their mind that they work like a placebo, i.e. that superstitions work only because they want them to work.

Knock on wood so you don't jinx yourself, I do this all the time...
I don't know if this is an official superstition or just one I made up, but forever whenever I am in a cemetary I will not walk on or over the graves (where the bodies would be laying). I always go around the plot. So that's my little quirk :)

Everything here is based on superstition. You look like you're doing a war dance of activities just before you even go out the door.

I've heard: Don't leave knives crossed as it will cause conflict ...Never stir with a fork whilst cooking as it stirs up trouble..Don't take the last piece of cake or anything(can't remember why)...Don't open an umbrella indoors....Never pass anyone on a staircase.Too many to remember if we followed them all we'd all have bad luck forever.

i've never been superstitious about anything-- with one exception:

i live near a large ski resort. on the road up there, there's a famous blue wale on a pole in someone's yard... the superstition? if you look at it one the way up, you'll have a horrible day skiing (lol by now it's more of a tradition [deliberatly NOT looking at it] than anything else)

there's the one that u shouldn't walk across where a black cat crossed, don't go itno a graveyard at night on friday the 13th (i've done it w/ friends & it's really creepy!), if you spill salt throw some over your shoulder, try not to walk on the cracks in the sidewalk and there are many others. i don't follow these but i hope they help!

I heard that if you break mirrors you have bad luck for like 4 or 5 years. I never believed in stupid shitt like that. I don't believe in curses.

However with that said I have been forced to look at things a bit different in recent times.

Breaking a mirror = 7 years bad luck.
If a penny is found heads up, it will grant good luck, however, tails up will grant bad luck.
It is considered bad luck to open an Umbrella indoors.
