He's a major activist when it comes to spending government (i.e. taxpayer) money on worthy causes such as AIDS in Africa. Yet this filthy rich guy moves his business from the UK to Holland specifically to avoid paying taxes.

It's easy to advocate spending someone else's money. Does anyone know if Bono actually reaches into his own pocket to help others? I have the impression that he doesn't.

Bono criticise`s government `s for not devoting more resources to developing countries. But will do anything from paying tax.which in term will help those who need in Ireland and oversea`s.
Until recently U2 Ltd, which deals with the band's royalty payments, estimated to be worth one third of the band's £460 million fortune, was based in Dublin. According to documents seen by the Ireland on Sunday newspaper, the company opened up in Amsterdam on June 1
irony of Bono's investment in Forbes "in a magazine that celebrates wealth and consumption . "
Roger McNamee, a co-founder of Bono's Elevation Partners, responded: "The way you solve poverty is giving people the tools to overcome it."
It's a good point, but one never pushed by Bono.

I'm positive that he gives plenty of cash to the cause. It's always interesting when people like you bring up money when discussing someone's commitment to a movement. There are many ways besides opening up your wallet, to promote a just cause. Ghandi, and Martin Luther King undoubtedly provided some personal financial resources to their causes, but in the end, they gave much more than that. They gave their lives, literally! What do you think is the greater cost?

I tried to find out the exact cash figures of his donations but came up empty handed. Most websites simply say that he donates "substantial amounts" for his causes.

His fans, however donate quite a lot.

I don't actually know the answer but I get the impression he does. I'm not a fan of his politics or his big mouth, but I do respect his passion and drive.

I doubt he donates a large percentage.
He is a bit of a loud mouth and seems to be very quick to point a finger at others
