Global warming is a natural phenomenon that has been ongoing since mankind stood upright on the Earth and before. Using proxy measures of gases trapped in the Antarctic ice sheets, climatologists have been able to map out the cycles of warming and cooling over hundreds of thousands of years. So global warming (and cooling) have be going on long before mankind began to pollute the air.

But, and this is a BIG BUT, what is different about this cycle of warming is that it is coming on faster and to a greater extent than ever before. And it's the greater extent and rate of onset that pretty much all knowledgeable climatologists agree is due to mankind's pollutions: CO2 is a major, but not only contributor to this rapid onset and extent.

I should like to point out there is no controversy about mankind's pollution causing the greater extent and rate of on set for this current warming cycle. There are those with personal agendas who will say there is a controversy so that the news media and less informed people will believe there is. The media like to perpetuate the controversy myth because it sells newspapers and the e-technology equivalents. And in keeping the myth of controversy alive, those with personal agendas can promote them easier.

To keep it as short as possible, pollution destroys the ozone layer.(atmosphere.)More heat and rays enter the earth and get trapped melting the ice caps and cause skin cancer. With the rise of sea level everything goes off balance and all sorts of natural disasters start happening.this is going to cause more powerful hurricanes and ect. It wasnt that short but there u go.

Certain gasses, mainly CO2 and methane, cause heat to be trapped in the atmosphere rather than radiating out into space. Ice also reflects heat, and less ice on the poles means that more heat
gets trapped in the oceans.
These gasses are generated in burning coal and oil, and cattle production, and burning rainforests to get more land.

pollution, litering, and lots of heat! at the top of the world were its really really cold theres a big ice sheat. when we pollute it starts to melt and when its fully melted we may no longer be the 50 states beacause it causes floods and bigger oceans!
