Hi Everyone,

I need some people who are familiar with London to tell me which area of these two is safer and better to live in?

Don't know Camberwell, but Harringay is predominantly Greek and Turkish. It is also an area with a high number of murders. These are not, on the whole, random murders, so it is safe for walking the streets etc.

I live in Camberwell and really love living here - its very convenient: less than 20 minutes bus trip to central London, its also well positioned to go to East Dulwich, Clapham, Brixton etc, its got good shops, pubs and restaurants: virtually no chains so interesting shops and it has a good vibe with all the students at the art college and the medical students.

Its got good parks - Ruskin Park, Myatts Fields, Camberwell Green, Burgess Park etc and is well positioned for supermarkets - there is a Somerfield in Camberwell and Sainsburys, Tesco and Asda within a short walking distance.

The only thing it lacks is a tube station but as I said its very well positioned for central London bus-wise and trains are good from Denmakr Hill station (less than 5 mins from central Camberwell) if you live in the streets between Brixton, Kennington and Camberwell it is only a 10-15 minute walk to the tube stations at Oval, Brixton and Stockwell.

As for safety I dont think its any more or less safe than any other area of London, I never feel unsafe walking around in the day or the night.

Come to Camberwell!
