Golf does take skill and hand eye coordination, but I consider it more of a hobby than a sport. Anything that you can do by yourself should not be a sport because you are not competing with anyone else.

Yes. Sports are tests of quickness, strength, endurance, reaction, and self-control. Competitive golf requires both great quickness and strength in driving the ball. Putting requires nerves of steel and great eye hand coordination. Since there is no defense in Golf, reaction time is not that important.
Four out of five is less than Football or Ice Hockey, but on par with High Jumping or Horse Riding, and ahead of Billiards or Bowling.
