When I was a teenager I use to get them alot. It did hurt real bad, enough to want to scream but I just grit my teeth. Ever since I was pregnant in 1992 I've had restless leg syndrom, ugh that's a pain. Not a literal pain by the way.

I used to get these a lot, mostly after days of -a lot- of walking. It cramps up and it hurts so bad. I'll usually rub my calf until it lessens up and then walk on it for a bit.

Try drinking a glass of Orange Juice before bed, potassium helps prevent these horrible leg cramps.

Yes, I walk 4 hours a day, Mon to Fri and often get cramps in the cold!
Flip it hurts!!!

I find putting a warm hot water bottle against my leg helps a bit.

yes, when I have them real bad in bed, I found that all I have to do to get rid of the cramp is to get out of bed and stand up, and that usually takes care of it. Try it next time. If just standing up doesnt work try walking a bit.

When I was about 11 or 12 I had them. I think they were growing pains. My Mommy used to put warm towels on my legs.

I used to get them a lot. My doctor told me it was probably because I wasn't drinking enough water. Could also be a lack of magnesium. Now I drink a lot of water and take magnesium and haven't had the problem any more (knocking on wood).

Yep and they are especially awful when you're about to go to sleep and then BANG a leg cramp and you're fully awake. That I really hate!
