are you serious? how is a muslim any different to a christian, a buddhist, a jew or an atheist. I'm an expatriate in an islamic country, and some of my best friends are Muslim. The close-mindedness of some people in the Western world is really disgraceful. I've lived in this country for 3 years and the only encounter with anything violent was from a Christian man.

I would---and in fact, I have. I met a very nice Muslim girl while in college. She lived through Iraq taking over her country in the 90s, and she was a very devout Muslim. I really respected her ability to stop and pray throughout the day and maintain the traditions of her religion. I enjoyed being friends with her, and I would definitely be friends with another Muslim again!

Yes. I would be happy to have Muslim friend.
(coz I have none.)

Here in the Philippines, 4/5 of the population are Catholics (i'm one of them). And about 1/5 are Muslims. Mostly in the Mindanao Region.

Well, I would treat them the same way as others coz we're both Filipinos, we're also of the same belief with one God, just different in practices.

And besides, I'm friendly to everyone! :)

Yes I would treat them the same and as respectfully. I wouldn't mind being their friend. Why should you care if a person is a diffrent religion than you. Why they are people to and they deserve the same respect as any of us would want. and Most muslims and Arabs are not terriost. They derseve to be treated with respect and dignity. as ghandi once said "there is only one race-the human race".

Why do you sound so clinical?

I'm a Muslim and I've been treated like a normal person every where I go. I don't see a reason why I shouldn't be treated respectfully since I don't strap _____ on my chest.

Would you always know someone is a Muslim by looking at them? I would never treat someone differently because of their religion or lack there of. I am a Christian, and there are some Christians I wouldn't even want to be my friend.

I do attend school (university) with a few Muslim women. I did try to speak to them, but they will not speak to anyone. I have no idea why they won't speak to anyone other than Muslim women.

However, I do not think badly of them. It's their choice. I still smile at them.

There's nothing wrong with Muslim. I have befriend them before, they're absolutely fine.

Of course we don't talk about religious stuff. Just the usual everyday stuff, school works and latest news.

Extremists are dangerous to society in every religion. At the present day and age, Islamists are particularly so.

We had waves of such religious, political and racial extremism in history. 1. Catholics and protestants killing each other in Northern Ireland. 2. Killing of non Christians by Christians during Spanish inquisition. 3. Converting people to a particular religion by force, especially by christians and Muslims. 4. Killing of Jews by neo Nazis. 5. Killing of abortion clinic workers and doctors by Catholic extremists. 5. Mistreating of blacks by whites in the US and South Africa. 6. In many wars in the past, the losers were treated like slaves by the winners, etc.

Of course I would respect them and yes I'd be their friend, as long as they in turn treated me with the same respect. There is no "why" answer to this question, that is common sense.
