I plan to put in 2 clothes line poles about 2 !/2 feet deep.
The gas company was just here to mark off my yard about 3 weeks ago, for a 5 foot fence, but that has been mowed over and I dont think they did the whole yard, just where the fencing company put up the fence.
How long does it take them to show up if I have to call and will they tell me where it is safe to put the holes?

YES CALL THEM WHENEVER YOU DIG!!!!!

For emphasis only. The fence company probably only had JULIE test for the location of the fence. You should be able to set up an appointment within a couple of days.

YES, MAKE THE CALL. it is best to be sure. the # in Ks. where I am is 1-800-DIG-SAFE, 1-800-344-7233. Where ever you are it is better to be safe than sorry, you don't want cut a phone, gas or electric line. it usually only takes a day or two for them to get things marked out, it's a small price compaired to repairs of cut lines.

No!!!---You don't "HAVE TO"---BUT IT WOULD SEEM TO BE EXTREMELY FOOLISH TO FAIL TO PLACE A FREE PHONE CALL TO "JULIE"---AS, IF YOU FAIL TO PHONE "JULIE" BEFORE DIGGING, AND YOU DESTROY,AND/OR DISRUPT, ELECTRIAL, SEWER,TELEPHONE,WATER,OR GAS LINE DISTRIBUTION LINES---YOU CAN BE FINANCIALLY LIABLE FOR ALL OF THE EXPENSIVE REPAIR COSTS FOR THE RESTORATION OF SUCH UTILITY DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS DUE TO BREAKS TO THEM ---THAT IS, BREAKS TO THEM WHICH WERE CAUSED BY YOUR DIGGING EFFORTS!!!---AND SIMPLY, ALL BECAUSE YOU FAILED TO PHONE "JULIE" WHERE A SERVICE WORKER WOULD HAVE , OTHERWISE, CAME OUT FREE TO MARK THE PATHWAY OF THOSE UNDERGROUND HIDDEN UTILIT(Y/IES) ON YOUR PROPERTY!!!
