To stop it looking chav or tacky the only possible things to do are:

Remove the standard bodykit and bumpers
Fit the bumpers from the LX or SX model.
Fit 13" steel wheels with full-width plastic trims (must be the proper Citroén trims, not cheap ones from Halfords).
Raise the ride-height to that of the LX and SX models.
Re-spray the car in "sable" metallic (gold/beige).

That way, it looks like a normal, one careful lady owner OAP-spec Saxo, rather than a chav-spec VTR or VTS.

There isn't an in-between with the Saxo, its either OAP or Chav.

The travel rug is optional, but recommended if you go the full OAP and get a scots terrier.

If its a VTR/VTS Id keep it as it is. For all im not a great fan of Saxo's I think the VT's look pretty cool - very complete looking cars. If its not a VT, aim for the VT look.

All you can do is get shadow chrome rims, (not white chrome, too good for the car), maybe a chrome exhaust, and thats about it.

You really cant do a basic car up without it looking ****.

Now my cars an alfa romeo 147, and I wouldnt dare touch it , as it is perfect.
