Not really, the United States has far more tornadoes, then the United Kingdom, on average the United States can see well over 500 tornadoes a year, ranging from F-0 up to destructive F-5, however, now adays, the refined the scale so now it read EF- 4 or someting of that nature.

I've heard that this is true. However, the tornadoes we get here tend to be very small and are nothing compared to the ones you get in the states, we just get lots of them.
I think it's because of the gulf stream.

When I first saw the question I honestly believed that you were having a laugh my son - but it appears that you are deadly serious.
i suggest you speak to your parents and get them to contact your Principal because that teacher of yours is some stupid knucklehead that doesn't know diddley-squat!
We rarely if ever have tornadoes or anything even approaching severe weather systems.

we do get the most for the amount of land we have, the US has more tornados but also alot more land, so it works out on average we have the most, but ours are cr@p

Definitely not.
We even have less pattering rain than Bergen, Norway.
We have mostly gentle weather.
I met an American meteorologist once. He wasn't very good. Perhaps he's teaching you now!
