The ice man was merely the oldest non-fossilized body to be found in Europe. He was preserved in a mummified state by the ice. There are many older mummies in Egypt and other places. Mummies are bodies that are preserved by special conditions or treatment, such as drying, freezing or embalming.

The oldest human remains are actually fossilized bones, which are around 2 million years old. How old the oldest human remains are depends on how you define 'human'. Paleontologists don't agree on a date for the oldest human remains. Lucy was not human, but is considered to be a link between apes and humans. She was an Australopithecus, an ape that walked on two legs and had a large brain, and probably was a direct ancestor to humans.

Here is something to consider;

This is a difficult question to answer because the definition of oldest human remains is not agreed upon by all major authorities in anthropology or paleontology. Scientific methods for dating also seem to be quite inaccurate and variable, and there is still a lot of controversy in the scientific community as to the accuracy of the various methods of determining exact age. Every once in a while a new method is devoloped for dating materials and it may or may not in reality be any more accurate than previous methods and can only be the best guestimate.

The frozen man was found in the Tyrol (Was he Austrian or Italian? Both countries wanted to claim him. He may have been murdered, so which police force should investigate?)

He is about Bronze age I think, so he isn't that old

You may be getting confused with Otzi, the Iceman, found in the Alps. He dates back only about 5300 years ago. Here are a couple of links to jog your memory.
