Its the same technique used to remove Chewing Gum.
Freeze the clothing to harden the Wax and then "Roll" the cloth against itself to crack it off. This will remove all of the main wax, but will still leave a little on the cloths thread. To remove this, just put it in a 40 degree wash and it will be gone.
If you use an Iron and Brown Paper, you may actually spread the wax further into the cloth as it melts and it will then never come out.

The best thing to do, is to scrape away as much as you can with a knife, then put some brown paper on the wax, then run a warm iron over it, it will then lift the remaining wax, and go onto the brown paper.

It depends on what kind of wax the candle is made from.
Generally I have always been able to get all wax off fabric by ironing over it with brown paper.
I got ALL the melted red wax off my cream carpet too by ironing it up with brown paper.
You can get the bulk of the wax off by freezing it then picking it off. Any residie can be ironed off.

try by putting the piece of clothing in the freezer a good half hour it will harden the wax which should easily peel off after you can use the brown bag method with your iron. Good Luck!

usually you put either brown paper bag or paper towel over the wax and iron it out. however if it is colored wax then there is a possibility the wax will stain the clothing. so do the freezer thing okara said to do.

iron it. put an old rag underneath the item with the wax on it and "iron "the wax on to the rag. the heat of the iron will melt the wax onto the rag. I've done this plenty of times.

I think I read once that if you try freezing the wax (if you can put the clothing item in the freezer--maybe in a grocery bag), you can scrape it off with a butter knife.

Fill your sink with scalding hot water and soak the spot in it for a while. Then pull out and chip off the wax. Wash and dry as usual. ;)
