Your Yahoo mail id suggests you are Indian & most probably this question relates to Indians only. Now as far the legal aspect of this whole issue is concerned no doubt the religion of the child is considered same as his or her father by birth. Secondly as far as you said the couple before the divorce till date were Christians by religion & so was their girl child, more over it is known fact that a Christian Child is usually baptized to Christianity in very young age of infancy, & so must have happened in this case too, hence the child bears a stamp of Christianity by religion as per her baptize certificate, check out this fact. Now what happens if the husband/father changes his Christian religion to Muslim religion, in such a case since the child in question is already Christian as I explained above hence in order to change the religion of this child a proper procedure has to be followed, since the permanent custody of the child has not been fixed, the question of the child going to the father straight away is not there unless he already has the custody of the child, the best course in this case is for the mother to get the permanent custody of the child from the court, along with this if she wants the child to continue the Christian religion, she should ask for the permanent injunction against her ex-husband to get the child converted to the Muslim religion, till the child attains age of adulthood i.e. 18 years & at that age she can choose her religion at her own wish. These are the only legal ways available to this lady.

I would think he would keep his child, and the woman he is leaving would keep hers. You don't say where you live, but in the USA, that is usually the way it is. I don't believe that a man that is not the father of a child has the right to take the child from her mother unless there are mitigating circumstances, like the mother is hurting the child, she does drugs, something of that nature. Different religions have different beliefs about this kind of thing as you probably well know.

Legally mother will keep the child till he reaches an age of 7 (in Muslim world), and till he reaches 18 (in Christian world). Yes if His mother has some problems, he will be handed back to the Father.
After reaching young age, let teh child decide, which religion he will prefer. Chances are that with Christian mother, he will keep Christanity.

Dear Brother, You hav asked a reasonable question. So don'bother about it.In Al-Qurán its said not to marry non-muslim women until she swear kalima and same for women. But excemptionally allah has allowed to marry the people of book.In this occasion we need to think who is ppl of book. Now the book which allah says in qurán(Taurat,Injeel,Zabur) is not in its true form no ppl were follwing the real book which has given to them. Now many changes were made in it by humans. So as the book is not existing today no followers of that true book is living.Since the ppl of book is not existing there is no question for marriying them.

Trying to understand your exact question but rather difficult. English is obviously you second language.
In th USA, the court will decide where the child is to go as far as physical custody. There may be some agreements but if it is a fight over custody then there is a long road to travel...a long road!!!!
