Oil has a very great concentration of energy. What should we be doing with what is left ?
Our lifesyle right now requires abundant oil.
Our transportation, fertilizers, plastics, electronics,
heating, cooling, electricity all require oil.

it should be used to further develop solar technologies..........

its amazing, we have a giant nuclear reactor with nearly unlimited amounts of energy and we utilize so little of it......

We do have a limited amount left. We just don't know what that limit is. The amount of oil being naturally produced now is extremely small compared to out consumption. Plastics is the most important use for which we have really no substitute. Air transportation is next.

Nature requires millions of years to "create" new oil. So the best way to use it is as we use it now, there is no point in doing anything else. Just hope when it runs out we have a solution to our civilization energy problem
