Ray,

No shortcuts to trade currencies. Teach yourself. I have managed it.

I will give you a few pointers here.

TRADE MAJOR PAIRS (Eur/$) being the "easier" with tighter spreads and not such big moves.

Know your timeframe. I day trade and use a 10 minute chart. This enables me to get in and out of the market and take my pips.

Never hold a position over news.

Use a robust but simple TA Technique to get involved with the trends.

Start with a demo account. You can get free play money. You will see how easy it is too lose money doing this. Because you will lose to start with.

Stick to your rules

You should have no trouble finding people who will take your money and then show you how to loose the rest ... they advertise 'Training Courses' in eg. Sunday Times Magazine and small ads of other newspapers

I would recommend you open a Pension Plan (SIPP) instead.

But if your REALLY want to do this, well it's your money, you can spend it how you see fit ... and who knows ? sometimes when you put your money on a rank outsider, it does actually win (on the other hand perhaps you should get used to sleeping in doorways and visiting soup kitchens before you Retire without a pension ..)
