A little while ago a women came in the police & said that her daughters father had broken into her house, took her 3 year old child & her childs passport & vanished, the women even had a convincing black eye. The police investigated the case, couldn't track down the father & in the end the case was put on file. A few years pass & whilst dragging the river for a body the police find a suitcase. Inside was a body of a young girl, turns out it was the missing girl from the suspected father abduction case. The mother confesses that she & her current boyfriend got too carried away sexually abusing the girl & accidently killed her & her father had nothing to do with an abduction or killing. The father was later found abroad & evidence had shown he had not entered the country for years.
The point of this morbid story is if a woman can do this to her own child why couldn't the Mc Canns? They may have gotten drunk & carried away & accidently killed Maddie. Then hid the body & made up a story.

i agree with you, most of the time the child is harmed by someone it knows and trusts, for years children have been and continue to be abused in their own home by the parents or close family members. people always dont want to think it is the parents because we do not want to belive that parents could do that to their own children. parents are the ones who are supposed to love and protect the child from the moment it arrives into the world. however as history shows us this is not always the case, sadly. if they have had any involvment they will get caught (hopefully) but there will be a worldwide outrage at the whole thing and rightfully so.

Well I don't know what happened, but there is something definitely not quite right about the whole case. The whole "let's travel around the world and get support" thing just feels wierd. If my child were missing the last thing I would want would be to set off on a world tour! I would be with my remaining children, at home, every second of every day, wanting them near me and to be left alone, out of the public eye.

one person said it would be difficult to do but the woman in your story proved it may not have been that difficult I'm not sure the McCanns did what happened in the story but what does bother me about them is that if they were not a white rich middle to upper class family would they be getting this attention
if they were a single parents on social welfare would they still have the twins , would they have got into trouble for leaving a 3 year old and twins under 2 in a room.
i am just an ordinary working class person and as sure as anything i would have ended up in trouble not getting all this attention

I'm wondering why the world media weren't all over the "kidnap/murder" you described like they are over the McCann case.
Tens of thousands of children "disappear" around the world every year, but it only seems like the cute blond ones get the publicity. Natalee Holloway, Madaline McCann, etc.
Where's the justice?

Very strong statement. I don't know them so I can not even think about what might have happened that awful night maddie disappear. All I now is that she did disappear and something fishy is going on. Even Gerry doesn't seem right. He looks rather shifty as if he knows something and is not saying.

Well of course they could have, but that doesn't mean that they did.
People have died from natural causes and not murder before, but does that mean that Charles Manson did not commit the Tate murders?
Buildings have collapsed due to structural inadequacies, but does that mean that the 747s that flew into the World Trade Center towers did not cause the damage?
Do you not think the police have considered that the McCanns could have had something to do with the disappearance of their daughter?

Can I offer another scenario - the child was stolen by someone else, the parents don't know where she is and they are doing anything in their power to get her back?
The parents are probably innocent - how would you feel if you were innocent of a crime and everyone suspected you of murder? And sexual abuse?
And spread it via the internet?
