The cool thing about Oahu is that there is everything to do. You can go to Waikiki and take a catamaran booze Cruise for $10.00 all you can drink. Great surfing and diving all over the island. Sea Plane and glider flights at reasonable prices. Hit the north shore and the Halieva area and see some of the best waves in the world. and if its flat the fishing and snorkeling is spectacular. There are water falls, parks, concerts, an amazing area of Strip clubs. (not to my taste but available) and Try Dukes for cocktails at Waikiki on Sunday afternoon. beautiful people watching. Go to the Hawaii Yacht club on Friday night and ask for a ride on one of the big sailboats for the beer can races. Have Lunch at tropical licks. Its a cart by the Chart House that serves some the best tacos in the world. Tell Jim that Randy said Hi. The list goes on and on. Absolutely one of the best vacations in the world. I am envious. It will be awhile before I get back there.
PS there is a great old restaurant on Sand Island. La Mariana in Hawaii. There is this Great Tiki bar on Sand Island and it might be the last Real Tiki bar in the Islands. Sand Island is kind of Isolated and La Mariana serves a small Yacht club there. The Place is all Bamboo and blown up Puffer fish. Georgeous waitresses and the old Lady that owns the place comes down once a night and greets her guests. The food is just spectacular. With thick and hot Juicy steaks, Ice cold beer and great cocktails.. There is a small piano bar and I swear that the same guy has been playing that piano for thirty years. The place was built at the beginning of WW2 and really hasn't changed that much. The old Bamboo has a kind of inner glow that only comes with age and care. Its really great. Most tourists never find it cause its off the beaten track. Check it out. You won't regret it and the price is right.

I would try to do what the locals do, and not do what all of the tour groups do. Tour groups are usually pretty big and make it harder to enjoy things. My fiance is Hawaiian and lived just outside of Honolulu for most of her life. This gave me a great opportunity to see things most people don't. If you can spring for a private local tour guide you might have a better time, but it'll be expensive.
Other than that I'd say try to check out the local food (Zippy's is a good place to check). Waikiki is a great beach, but its so crowded all the time, that I didn't enjoy it as much. If you aren't looking to surf and just want to enjoy a nice white sand beach, I'd recommend Kailua. If you like hiking and climbing, and aren't afraid to do something illegal, climb the Stairway to Heaven. It takes you up one of the highest mountains on the island to an old military radar post, and you get a great view over the H1 and the beach below. Snorkeling is always great. I went just east of Diamond head. The water is clear and you can see the turtles. If you are looking for a cultural experience, check out the Polynesian Cultural Center. It'll take at least two days to see everything, but it is awesome!
But, it is Hawaii, so you can do basically anything short of downhill skiing so get out there and try something new.

in case you desire to locate an out-of-the-way spot, attempt the little city of Maili on the western coast of Oahu. there is no longer plenty right here consisting of vacationers yet then, that’s the belief. It does have a very effective sea coast with superb tropical sunsets. you may get in some relaxing swimming, snorkeling, boogieboarding or surfing devoid of the crowds you detect someplace else. suitable for a honeymoon on a low value variety.
