I have a thinkpad x60 notebook and it has windows vista Business installed already but the problem is I can't install my program because of compatability issue with windows vista. So, I shrink my hard drive with separate 5Gigabytes of capacity wich is enough for windows XP to be installed. When I boot my notebook with Xp installation disc to install Xp, it does boot but later on, it pop-ups the blue screen like it was crashed. It says "that it has a virus and it can't find the hard drive".blablablablablabla.How could that be my notebook is really new and how come that it can't find the hard drive if I can boot to Vista. I tried it many times but still the same. Its not the disc wich has a problem because I tried it to my desktop and it really works. So, Can you help on how to install windows xp Pro so that I can run my program and it is really important to my job.

By the way I use the external DVD-ROm drive in this operation.

thanks,

Hope you can help me

Generic XP CDs won't work due to driver issues.

You must use the XP Pro Recovery disks for the ThinkPad. Buy them from Lenovo.

Then, wait for the Vista version of your required program.

you have gotten the skill to do a sparkling set up. The directories application information, information and Settings, and residing house windows would be moved to a folder noted as residing house windows.previous and placed on the basis of the c: force. in case you ever prefer to revert to previous OS, you may boot from the Vista DVD into the residing house windows restoration environment (Win RE) and pass the information from residing house windows.previous to the basis of the force. Then bypass right into a CMD instant and run bootsect form, bootsect /nt52 all . this might carry the laptop lower back to ntldr as a substitute of the hot bootmgr.
