How can I get rid of an annoying system alert Icon at the bottom right hand of the computer?

I have a spy sweeper already. I was trying to download the program that would let me watch videos on the computer last week and this icon came about and won't go away now and I don't know how to get rid of it. Plz Help!!

Posting a pic of that alert would help a lot.

But ,as i have experienced such an annoying alert popping up in the system tray and suggesting that my computer is infected,I'd recommend you to do what i did to remove that 'Virus'.
As always the best way to remove and resolve virus problems is to install a good anti-virus software.Also trying an online scanner would be useful if you have some sort of trouble with an anti-virus program.Try the Bitdefender scanner: http://www.bitdefender.com

If it is in the bottom right hand part of your screen, with your date/time and your internet connection and other indicators, it means that it has attached itself to your start menu.

Just go into your start menu to remove it.
