Sounds like premenstrual tension but u get it after the menses as well. It doesn't seem to me at all like cancer, unless u have very strong family history. Instead of staying in doubt, u should get a check up and be sure. Hormonal treatment will help in case it is related with menstrual cycle (as it is). Fibroadenosis is another condition similar to it but u get knotty feeling in the breast on palpation. Best of luck!

I'm not a dr but I am someone who has a lot of female issues and also a family member that was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and also had some breast issues of my own.

Part of this could be hormonal related but the only way to know for sure is to have this evaluated by your dr.

As for telling your parents please do because they care about you and want to make sure that you stay healthy. Not telling them about this could alarm them even more. They will be glad you did. Your mom in particular because of the fact that she watches to make sure that all is ok. Also, she will try to help you in any way she can, especially if she might have gone thru this.

Just let her know that you need to talk to her privately and then let her know what you have noticed.

Breast cancer does not always have to hurt (this is something I was told years ago when i had my breast problem that turned out to be related to some medication I was taking as well as a condition called costochondritis-an inflammation of the cartillage around the ribcage).

If you need to talk some more about having breast issues please feel free to e-mail or IM me privately away from the board any time.

If you're really worried about it, you should go visit the doctor because they'll be able to run some tests and have a better idea than someone online. If it does happen to be something serious you should share it with your parents because they'll eventually find out........and sooner is better than later.
