Do you think that we should go along with animal testing if we are testing medicines? Thousands of animals are tested on and most of these are for cosmetics. I think that it's a waste of time to test cosmetics on a animal.

Dyou think that what i'm saying is right?

Yes. I agree with you when it comes to cosmetics, dietary pills, cause that is stuff we really don't need. As for real medicine like a life saving drug, antibiotic, yes they can do the testing,

animal testing is one of those topics which, at the moment, no one person has the authority to say whether it's right or wrong. i agree with you. i make it a point to use cosmetics which are not tested on animals because i don't think it's necessary to do so. but for medicines which could potentially save a life, i believe we should prioritise human life.

I think that animal testing for medications should be stopped. The proof is in the number of medications that have be recently recalled off of the market after they have been approved after they were tested on animals (Bextra, Phen-Fen etc.). People have suffered serious damages from taking these medications and we will all pay the price in higher priced drugs due to the number of multi million dollar damage seeking lawsuits that have resulted. Testing on animals does not accurately reveal the effects the medication will have in humans. There have been a number of more scientifically advanced tests developed to test the effectiveness of medications in humans. According to PETA "Effective, affordable, and humane research methods include studies of human populations, volunteers, and patients, as well as sophisticated in vitro, genomic, and computer-modeling techniques."

No-testing medicines on animals has also proven to be a waste of time-their physiology is just not close enough to ours. Look at Celebrex and Fen-phen.
