Now what if supernatural energy inside of a supernatural being is generated by the beings Mitochondria, in humans Mitochondria is the power pack of the cells, what if there was a more evolved strain of Mitochondrial d.n.a. that granted supernatural abilities to the person or creature with the said d.n.a., i mean Mitochondria has it's own genetic structure within the human cell, so why can't something with it's own genetic structure be subject to evolution like everything else, i think this explains supernatural creatures and being.

Being supernatural would such an advantage to breeding that very soon, the whole population would contain the mitochondria, although, being pased on through female lines, as are mitochondria, it might slow it down. But still, we would have an enormous percentage of supernatural beings.
And, in the immortal words of Syndrome in the "The Incredibles" - "And when everyone is super - no-one will be."

So, if supernaturality was an inheritable trait, we would see it once it arose. So it probably does not exist.

well, mitochondria is isolated from any selection pressure, u know so it cant evolve.....

the only way is that a mutation in their dna happens, but that wont evolve the mitochondria itself, because that dna in mitochondria is reponsible for coding for enzymes and protiens for reactions only, not to evolve the mitochondrion it self.

people with supernatural powers just dont have supernatural mitohondria... i guess u r completely wrong.

u may think about this in another way, sum cells in our brain evolve in a way to give us a special variation than other people. and what i mean by this is that, dna in cells (not mitochondria) mutates in such a way to code for ,say, a new enzyme that destroys every foriegn body, or ,say, an enzyme that really speeds up healing so whenever that guy is shot, he heals quickly....

i guess i may sound contradictory in my answer a little bit, but that the whole cell mutates not just a part of it, if a part is mutated it gets killed by lysozymes, but the cell may still have its antigens, like wat cancer does, the cell mutates but doesnt change its antigens so it cant be discovered by our immune system and these cells keep on growing.

i hope i helped

One of the big things evolution does besides change organisms over time is to conserve energy. Organisms that conserve energy and can get along on less food have some advantages over those that require more energy.

Your "supernatural" being very well might not be able to get enough energy to really be supernatural. It might have to spend all of its time trying to find food and never get beyond that.

Evolution provides balance in that extremes in either direction may not survive to reproduce.

You're right. I have lots of friends with highly evolved mitochondria that allow them to fly, walk through walls basically you name it. We call ourselves the League of Extraordinary gentlemen. We call you an idiot.
