Blair was forced into it by Parliament which at last showed it's teeth.

Then he lied, then he fudged and lied some more. Then he got a judge to hold an enquiry but the witnesses did not have to give evidence on oath. So the government lied some more and they were considered in the clear.

But then Blair was known as a liar and he must be a good liar because he won the last election
