It just seems to me like there was more excitement about sports in general in the last decade. I mean, you had Jordan in the NBA, Tiger Woods in golf, Mark Macguire & Sammy Sosa in MLB, great dynasties in the NFL with the Cowboys & 49ers, just in general more exitement. Now the networks don't even show the NBA playoffs, except for the finals. You have to have cable. I think college sports still have a lot of vitality. What happened to the pros?

There are good moments anywhere you look. Granted, Michael Jordan was a tough act to follow for the NBA, but Oden and Durant may change the chemistry this year. Baseball has had a couple of historic World Series victories from Boston and Chicago in the last few years. Peyton Manning is putting together an NFL career that ranks with anyone. Hockey is trying to climb out of the dead puck era. Tiger is still Tiger, but Phil is showing signs of at least being a challenger at time.

In other words, there are plenty of thrills out there no matter what time you are examining. So enjoy what's happening now while remembering the past.
