Shivraj Patil deserves to be a President. I don't believe tha Dr Kalam was a good prez and was a rubber stamp or you can say a scape goat. He was the worst president i have ever seen. Just by meeting poor children and developing missiles you cannot qualify for presidents post. He was used by BJP to satisfy the Muslim roits in Gujarat. Mr Patil has a view for the country and i am sure will be the best politican to become a president. He has a charming personality. Manmohan looks like an old budy without any royal looks. Mr. Patil is a strict hand..indians are very bad at judging other...see they kicked out the british and are now laging behing the world. 2nd on human exploitation, 8th on corruption ..did dr kalam change any of this...he is a person i would never try to follow...being a bachelor and vegetarian will make you a hopeless person...

Not at all. I understand that President of India do not enjoy executive powers, he surely represents the pride, temprament, ambitions and character of the nation. At least that is what is expected of him. Mr. Shivraj Patil has non of above. He was never outstanding in any area of performance in any of the offices he chaired.
We had seen such presidents in past. Mr. Fakharuddin Ali Ahmed was such president. Congress has history of such selection. So one must not be surprised if he is selected.
If he is elected to the coveted post, the nation would be doomed during the time of unprecedented crises.
The irony is that we are flush with personalities of international repute in scores. Hope for the best.

YES, Mr. Shivraj Patil, deserve to be President.
The comparison to APJ is irrevlant as the Political leaders actually elect the president and polical establishment is elected by each one of us. If needed the system needs to be changed. DO we all vote ? for Counsellor / MLA/MP?
Please do not forget that he was also Speaker of the Loksabha.
APJ certainly deserve to be continued.
After all we normal citizen have NO say in these selections nor can we influence(?) it.

First of all, shame on our pliticians who have lost self respect for the lure of power. One can clearly see in yesterdays news how the unfortunately so-called candidates for the post of President to our great country sit like domestic pets by sonia's side. It is a shame that people of this order will represent this great nation at the highest level. Even a person of Dr. Manmohan Singh's credentials and idealist reputation is not spared in this bizzard mockery of democracy. As for the two candidates - one ( Mr. patil) is a dumb fool who cannot see or think anything beyond congress or sonia and cannot even boast of one major achievement in his entire political career....a total failure at whichever post he has taken up....and the other ( Mr. shinde who....) is everyone's guess. GOD save my country from such uneligible, good-for-nothing puppets who do not even know the spelling of leadership...leave alone radiating any of it....it saddens me deeply and i can only pray to GOD that some miracle happens and the genius of Dr. Abdul Kalam retains his rightfully earned place as the PRESIDENT OF INDIA.
JAI HIND.

What difference does it make ? The only good President, the people's President, is Mr APJ Abdul Kalam. The Politicians hate him and will ensure that one of their own ilk is appointed.
