I just adopted 2 pufferfish, and the literature on the internet is hard to come by. I just need some general information, such as feeding, is a bit of salt in the water good for them, and how big of a tank i will need as they grow. Also, is it normal for them to jump?

Do you know their scientific name? there are two types of green puffers. True fresh water puffers and those that are brackish.

True fresh water puffers get NO SALT in their tanks. If you aren't sure, don't add it if they told you they are fresh water.

Also, do not follow advice from forums. They are not fact but opinion.

Tetraodon nigroviridi

This will give you the other names of other green spotted puffers that do or will require salt water as they age.

Just be careful as to which fish you have.

Green spotted puffers are actually very unique as they grow, and need a lot of extra care. You're going to need to read a lot of literature on them.

As babies, they live in freshwater. As juveniles they move to brackish water, and as adults they live in saltwater.

They need more than a bit of salt. As juveniles they can tolerate freshwater for a little while, but should be in brackish water. As adults, they need high-end brackish to full marine conditions.
