area of sector= (Pi r*r angle of sector) / 360
so, req. area=(3.14x 36x120) /360 cm.cm

The area of a circle is pi*R^2 A circle has 360 degrees so 120 degrees is 1/3 of a full circle The area of the sector is then (1/3) the area of the circle Area of sector = (1/3)piR^2 = (1/3)pi*36 = 12pi cm^2 Area of sector = 37.7 cm^2
