Major Prospect - LOL i must be retarded then coz i say ar-mund!

I asked coz my family was arguing about it last nite, and we looked it up in the english dictionary and it said it is pronounced as ar-mund (it didn't spell it like that, used a funny letter, but was pronounced with an 'r'!)

It's a silent 'L'. It's always a silent 'L' ..................

................... ar-mund ....................

Where the heck do they say ar-mund. In good old Britain, that's whre. I've never yet met a person who pronounces the 'L'.

I shall, however, allow you to call me retarded but only if you're called Stephen Hawking. I'm only 10-15 I. Q. points short of being an official genius (150 points = genius apparently).

So, for all you wonderful Americans who believe you know how to speak English, you don't pronounce the 'L'.

An interesting thing to add to this question would be to follow up with where the person is from. You could see if there are trends.
