what is the best novel / book that you have read?

Best love story, no question is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.....its gets better and better everytime I read it!!

A story that really made me cry was "My Sister's Keeper" by Jodi Picoult. It's the story of a young girl born to keep her sister alive - she donates bone marrow to her sick sister thoughout her life, but when she is asked to donate one of her kidneys she goes to court.

So sad! It has so many twists. Just when you think you've got something figured out it takes you by surprise. It made me cry so much though... A really moving story about families and whether or not one child should be helped at the expense of another.

I have my two best novels I have read and will read them again:
1. The Cairo Trilogy by Naguib Mahfouz, and
2. A Suitable Boy by Vikram Seth.
However, they are a bit lengthy but worth reading, both authors use elegant, good style of writing with wonderful characters.

A Tale of Two Cities, by Charles Dickens. It has it all! Love, family, war, intrigue, and valor. I cried like a baby at the end of it. Splendid book.

Excellent story, vibrant world, interesting characters. I highly recommend it. And the sequels of course.
