Point of intersection is the values of (x, y) whereby the values fit into both equations.

So you have to solve simultaneous equations.

3x - y - 7 = 0
y = 3x - 7 ----------------------- (1)

x + 5y + 3 = 0 ----------------- (2)

Sub (1) into (2):
x + 5 (3x - 7) + 3 = 0
x + 15x - 35 + 3 = 0
16x - 32 = 0
16x = 32
x = 2.

Sub x = 2 into (1):
y = 3(2) - 7
y = -1.

Point of intersection is the (x, y) you have just found out, which is (2, -1)

ok first the greater convenient section. so some distance as i will tell from the equation, if (a million,0) ought to be interior the respond, then the consistent "a" ought to equivalent -a million. So: -x + by means of + a million = 0, or -x + by means of = -a million factor of intersection = (a million,0), because line a million has that factor (given) and line 2 has that factor (a million+0=a million) Slope of line 2 (x+y=a million) is -a million; for this reason, slope of a perpendicular line a million ought to be +a million. Intercept of line a million = -a million Intercept of line 2 = +a million which ability equation of line a million: y = mx + b y = x - a million remember that -x + by means of = -a million by means of = x - a million b = a million So there is the respond. I jumped around plenty to get there so i'm hoping you accompanied it, even though it replaced into least complicated (for me) to end the final section until now ending the 1st section.

here's how to do that.
3x-y-7=0 x+5y+3=0

x=(y+7)/3 then substitute this to the second equation

(y+7)/3+5y+3=O

(y+7+5y+3)/3=0

6y+10/3=0

6y+10=3
6y=3-10
y= -7/6 then substitute this to any of the 2 equations

x+5y+3=0

x+5(-7/6)+3=0

x+(-35/6)+3=0

x+-2 5/6=0

x= -2 5/6 or -17/6

therefore,the intersections are (-17/6 and -7/6)

3x - y - 7 = 0
3x - y = 7
-y = 7 - 3x
y = 3x - 7

x + 5(3x - 7) + 3 = 0
x + 15x - 35 + 3 = 0
16x - 32 = 0
16x = 32
x = 2

y = 3(2) - 7
y = 6 - 7
y = -1

(2, -1) is the point of intersection

3x - y = 7
x + 5y = - 3

15x - 5y = 35
x + 5y = - 3----ADD
16x = 32
x = 2

2 + 5y = - 3
5y = = 5
y = - 1

Point of intersection is (2 , - 1)
