Electrocution usually only occurs when you're grounded, meaning touching the ground.
The wires are insulated, which means the bird is sitting on the plastic, not the actual wires.

The electricity flowing through the wires will run directly through the birds body and back down the line because the bird is not grounded.
The danger is in the grounding. If the bird were touching the ground and touched a live wire, it would be electrocuted. If the bird could also touch the other wires, it would be electrocuted. I am not sure if this causes a ground or an arc.

when birds sit on an electric wire, there is no contact between their body and the earth(or any other conducting material). so the circuit is not complete and current can't flow through their body. hence they are not electrocuted. eventually they do not die in such circumstances.
(this ques should have been in the physics section)

they are not touching any thing else so the goes along the line if the were to have a wire they flew up from the ground i think that would complete the circuit and fry the bird

Because the wires are not touching the ground.
Why is the question in the FASHION & ACCESSORIES section?
