i recently found out that my husband of 7 yrs cheated on me 2 month ago. he still hasn't stopped talking to her, yet he hasn't told me that he wants a divorce.

having lived with your best friend, it is beyond difficult to go through the day w/out talking to him. i know either of us don't want a divorce and to never speak to one another again.

need some serious advice. why am i so dependent on him after what he has done...especially when he still talks to her on a daily basis. i don't get why he is keeping the long distance affair

I understand, it's scary to think about getting a divorce and losing your best friend. Maybe you aren't so much dependent on him as you are comfortable with him. It's hard to start over, but come on. The person you loved and trusted cheated on you and doesn't even have it in him to stop talking to her! That's about as low as it can go. You deserve to be with someone who will not cheat on you. Ultimately the decision has to be yours but you have to wonder if you will ever be able to trust him again. In my opinion, if there is no trust, there is no relationship.

aren't we all. Of course some have experience but for the most part even experience scratches it's head and shakes it from time to time

SO....UM.....IS.....DUH......THIS QUESTION?

OK, GOT IT NOW. Realize that you are his best friend, but he is not yours. FRIENDS DON'T HURT FRIENDS!

YOU NEED TO FOCUS ON PROTECTING YOUR FEELINGS AND EMOTIONS AND NOT HIS. HE IS NOT SORRY FOR WHAT HE HAS DONE, BECAUSE HE IS STILL DOING IT, EMOTIONALLY BY KEEPING THE TIES TO HER.

DON'T PLAY WITH HIM OR FEEL/ACT DESPERATE FOR THE MARRIAGE TO WORK. HE WILL ONLY USE THAT AGAINST YOU BY DOING IT AS LONG AS HE WANTS.

MOVE OUT OF THE BEDROOM! STOP DOING FOR HIM. STOP SPEAKING TO HIM, ONLY TO 'MAKE YOUR DEMANDS' TO MAKE THIS MARRIAGE WORK FOR YOU,

THE LONGER YOU LEAVE HIM IN CHARGE OF YOUR HAPPINESS, YOU WILL HURT A LOT LONGER.

ONLY YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR HAPPINESS...NOW GO GET IT!

honey, if he is still talking to her then he has no real honest intentions of making his marriage work.
the first step he would need to make is to stop talking to her immediately. don't make someone your priority when they don't make you theirs.
