Yep! If you do the crime you have to pay the time! No matter what your celebrity status is!

Yes, for a very simple reason.
Noone was able to produce the paperwork that the doctor must fill out in order to actually get a medical release. The Sheriff had two additional hours after the originally scheduled court time to get the paperwork to the judge's desk. If the doctor's signed form wasn't given to him, it doesn't exist as far as the judge knows. Hell, the sheriff couldn't even produce the 'undisclosed illness' she was supposed to be suffering from. And no, testimony from her private psychiatrist wouldn't work, unless it was done unde court supervision.
Which is why instead of sending Hilton straight back to jail, the judge sent her to the county's psychiatric evaluation center to determine whether she should be back in county or in a psychiatric center for the rest of her sentence.

The only person that I can tell that has acted inappropriately in the legal system here was the sheriff('s officer) that released her instead of transferring her to the infirmary/psychiatric ward and notify the judge.

Depends on whose side are you standing on.

If you are standing on the Judge side, she did wrong and what worst is that she is famous. So people will look upon her and some may regard her as a role model. If she can do things the way she likes and does not have to serve her sentence, is it fair?

If you are standing on Paris Hilton side, she is suffering and being a star, she already face sufficient pressure. She did not kill anyone and being in sentence to prison, she is already did the couple of days and was told to do the rest at home. Being psychologically unfit, she cant announce it and get approved. The doctor has to approved to it.

So whose side are you on?

You just had to go and ask me this question. He** yeah she is getting treated fairly. She may have a legitimate medical or psychiatric condition that should allow her to finish her time in home confinement, but she keeps trying to circumvent the system. She has to submit documents to the judge requesting the judge to review and amend her sentence based on the medical evidence. She hasn't done this. If she does, the judge will probably let her go home. She needs to play ball and stop being such a putz.

I think the Judge was right and the Sheriff's Dept. was wrong for letting her out in the first place; after all, like you mention above, they have infirmaries and psych wards in jail where she can receive adequate treatment if it is needed, just the same way other people sentenced to jail that have physical and mental problems would. To let her out was affording her special treatment. Putting her back in fair.

Martha Stewart did her time and it was months, not weeks, like Paris was sentanced to and she got along just fine.

Nothing in life comes for free.
If you ask god for fame and adulation then god takes this price from you. You will be hounded by the press, you will be dealt with severely in courts of law, you will be written about unflatteringly in the press, the paparazzi will follow you everywhere etc. etc.

There are many heirs like Paris, unnoticed and invisible, but she chose to get into the public eye. And she must realize that there is a price to it. She is paying it now..

I believe that she is psychologically distressed, no doubt, she's never had to deal with any reality. If I were kept in a comfy bubble my whole life with everything handed to me on a silver platter and had hired hands to wipe my butt for me and then had to face the real world, I would be freaking out too. That's life. The hardest thing she's probably ever had to do is figure out which shoes go with her outfit. I don't feel bad for her.

i think she's being treated fairly. she shouldn't have gotten released in the first place. no one else gets to be on house arrest if they have a medical problem in jail. and it's not like she has to be there for long anyways it's only another 40 days. and she has her own cell so she should stop crying.

If that was you or I, we'd be sitting for 90 days, with a $1000.00 fine plus. What makes her any better? Her sentence should be more, than what she was punsiherd for.If these celebrities served the maximum sentence, maybe they will think twice before getting back into trouble.
