this may sound so stupid but my husband belches all the time and it's setting a bad example to my daughter, she's 4 and she's going to start thinking it's okay. but every time i confront him about it he laughs it off. i want him to at least say excuse me. it's almost as if he deliberatley makes it loud and obnoxious and it's a constant thing. what's the deal with men?

Enlist your daughter to help you remind her daddy that belching loudly is not cool and there are ways to do it quietly. Give her a nickel every time daddy belches as long as she reminds him to do it quietly. She might save enough to buy a car by the time she is 16.

Belching is better than breaking wind. Your daughter will think it is funny for a few months and then she'll get bored with it. My nephews would laugh hysterically when I would let them pull my ear and then I'd either break wind or belch! Now they are over it and their latest thing is to laugh hysterically after claiming that I'm a "polliwog". Children are a riot! tf

actually, that's no longer that undesirable, and the incontrovertible fact that she feels delicate sufficient with you and knows you will love her in basic terms with the aid of fact she has an "unladylike" way each and every so often, ought to make you experience good. So that's no longer so alluring, i'm optimistic there are different issues approximately her that rather turn you on, so why do no longer you're making an settlement, like for each 5 situations the two one in all you burps or farts, you should do something for the different individual who does get you attracted. are you able to tackle it? Fart good back, i've got certainly had some very aggressive farting wars, it style of feels immature yet my boyfriend and that i are truly delicate with one yet another. Do you truly need the years of your marriage to contain fights approximately gas? in basic terms relax.

My Dad would fart all the time... purposely.... he will even try to be in a situation where he can have control of window locks in a vehicle and fart... and its BAD.... so it really could be worse than the burping... BUT I agree with you it is wrong.... do not let her think it is OK.... in front of him tell your daughter that Daddy is wrong for his behavior and wrong for laughing about it and that she will be disciplined if she does that.... if he doesn't want to respect you and set a good example for his daughter.... let her know it is wrong behavior, and at the same time it will not make him feel good about himself... he may get angry... but tell him that he didn't take you seriously and he wasn't setting a good example... so one of you had to worry about her and what she is learning... and that if he chooses to do bad behaviors of any type you will tell her it is wrong.

Oh please! The child is four years old. She already things burping and farting is funny! Yes, it's loud and obnoxious, but it is a natural body function. You shouldn't teach your daughter to be ashamed of human biology. Let him burp.

As a child my sisters and I would have burping contests with my father. She'll grow out of it by the time she's 12 or 13 and want to behave like an uptight polite prude like her mommy.

All I know is that was the mating call of my senior class. Teach your daughter to say excuse me, maybe she can then teach her father some manners!

If he is supportive of you, works hard to make a good life for you and your daughter, doesn't abouse either of you, then I'd say you are luckier than a lot. Let a little burping go. Just explain to your daughter that boys have different manners than girls and that girls don't do that.

Did you ever consider the possibility that he is doing it simply to annoy you. Lay off for a bit and you will find that he will to.
