I'm with icing_in_ak. Not missing much, since neither of my teams made the playoffs, and I've still got lots of hockey going on around here. Playing in a tournament next weekend, my summer girls' summer league (mostly an excuse to mess around for an hour and then stand out in the parking lot and grill burgers and drink beer), and the awesome new weekly practice I just hooked up with.

I plan to spend the summer conditioning and working on my skills, gearing back up for fall league play again.

Let the NHL boys rest, but there's plenty of hockey still to be had while they're fishing and playing golf!

Definately. I miss watching it but I am still with my team practicing every stinkin day! I love it though! But there is always the draft, juniors, and pregames for WHL/try-out games, and the award show. So I will still see some hockey, but no prfessional organized games.

Oh then there is seeing Neidermayer x2 with the cup this summer. And I always see Doan, Smyth, Linden, Ellerby, Devereux, and Hitchcock at the lake where they all live in the summer. Not like I stock them or anything they just come into my work.

For the record I am not obsessed I just have OCD when it comes to hockey.

Nope, cause I skate through the summer, 2 organized summer pick up sessions and 1 hockey team. Oh and one of my pick up games, 11 skaters showed up, so we played 4 on 4. Our bench had 5 skaters, and I ended up on a 15 minute shift. I can barely move today. Lovin' it!

Do I miss the NHL? Sorta. That's what NHL video games are for though.

But then I think if I watched it year round, I'd be burned out emotionally, even worse, hoarse from all the screaming.

I do! It's only been a few days, but I'm going into NHL withdrawal. I've been keeping "busy" by setting up cardboard boxes in my kitchen to practice my shooting (my mom isn't too happy about that one), and also taping my stick too often (hockey fan version of a tic?). The other day, I bought some (more) tape and the person at the register looked at me like I was crazy for buying tape in June, but whatever.

What is there to miss? In two months, they'll be back on their skates for training camp. What other sport has such a short break between the end of playoffs and the start of training? With such a limited time between the two, perhaps that's part of the reason why the Stanley Cup champions fail to repeat the next year.

I think hockey goes on way too long. How is it that the NBA starts their season one month after the NHL, yet finish in the same month of June?

You shouldn't feel like you're missing hockey. I think you need to take a break and enjoy some other fine sports, whether watching or bettey yet playing. Of course, if you have any specialty channels, you can watch hockey highlights and vintage games all through the summer. If you have a video game system, you can play hockey through the summer, too. It'll be more enjoyable because you control your destiny, with the sounds of recognizable hockey commentators by your side!

I absolutely miss hockey. I am from Texas and my team hasn't played in quite a while. I guess I'll have to wait until October.

I started missing it 5 minutes after Anaheim won the Cup...

I can't play NHL07 cause I accidently left my copy at college (4 hours away). But I'm looking for a good ball to play street hockey with, hopefully that will tide me over.

At least we have the awards show to look forward to.

Well, there's the Chowder Cup coming up, there's the Canada vs. Russia series, CHL camps open in August-it never really ends.
