I use a Digital camera to record qicktime movies .Playback is jerky not smooth. How can I remedy this problem?

you can increase the frame rate, you will get a smoother picture. if this happens when you are converting it to a diffrent format or dvd (i mean the original is fine but the new converted one is the problem) then it's because you have things running in the back ground, and theres not enough memory/processing power availible to convert it smoothly, you just have to close all running programs, and not use the computer while it's converting.
