How many things are going on that the government keeps from the public under the guise of "National Security"?

Are you suggesting that the locations of our troops in Afghanistan, and the numbers of troops at each location, be published in the New York Times?

NO. Absolutely not. A slip of the lip might sink a ship. That was the catch phrase during WW2... sometimes, the government needs to keep quiet in order to keep soldiers or others safe.

I do not feel a need to know absolutely every frickin' thing the govt. does.

Who is to say what we are informed of and what we are not. Our government is supposed to be of the people by the people. If the people cannot see what the government is doing, then there is a problem.

Radical Transparency is the only way to go. The government serves at the leisure of the people.

If you want informed, vote for Ron Paul. The current things they are keeping from the American citizenry are the "North American Union" and Ron Paul.

Unless you have the need to know, no you don't need to know. As to the number of things that are going on in the name of National Security, you do not have the need to know.

I guess you (and I) don't wanna know all that crabs they are doing. Government works are a bunch of crabs. The only interesting things are the things they put on newspaper, and tabloids.

No. Some things need to be kept secret for security reasons. Sometimes that gets abused, but all we can do is vote for the people who we thing will represent our interests the best.

Most of the American public wouldn't undertand it and the media would just publish it so the whole world (including enemies of the US) can see it.
