Georock, I hope you did not just type that yourself.
I forget how you derive it, but an exact solution for pi is the infinite series
4 * sum (i = 0..inf) 1/(2i+1) * -1 ^ i
in other words,
4 * (1 - 1/3 + 1/5 - 1/7 + 1/9...)
However, this series takes forever to converge...

pi is an irrational number, meaning it goes on forever, never repeating. If you need an exact value in your calculation, then I suggest going to atleast 5 decimal places for pi (3.1415927), if you don't need to know the exact value, just use the greek letter pi.

3.1416 is the most accurate. coz if you are dealing with decimals.. you should have 4 decimal places in solving but with the final answer.. only 2 deciaml places will do. i hope i helped you..

i always thought it was 3.14? or divide 22/7 like the other person did and thats like 3.1428....blah blah blah.
