Yeap, this was good gaming card before. But currently, there are many cards out there which are way better.
9600 has 128 bit interface, and normal DDR memory, and the maximum AGP8X support.
If you try, you can get nVidia 7400 series in similar price range which can easily outperform radeon 9600 due to its superior speed and performance.

And if your system needs an older card then go for a nVidia 6600.

Cheerios.

If your PC still using AGP slot, then yes, ATI Radeon 9600 is quite good for gaming. But don't expect too much from it, as modern games will require newer & more powerful card.

However, most PC are now using PCI-X slot, which is not compatible with ATI Radeon 9600. Get an ATI X550 or newer.

The 9600 Pro is pretty fast for a budget 8X AGP card. It is not power hungry (16watts) and it also overclocks well using ATI Tool.
