Try this:
Double click on the speaker icon next to the clock in the lower right-hand corner of the screen. (Or double click the Sound properties icon in the Control Panel.) You should see at least two columns: "Volume Control" and "Wave". Raise the slider for one (or both, whatever works) and that should increase the maximum volume for your speakers.

There can be two types of problem.
1. The hardware viz. the speaker may be damaged due to wear and tire. The speaker cone breaks or the connetcion wires may be loose, stereo may become mono ect.
To check the hardware- input the sound from other source like mp3 player or Walkman and if it plays well then the hardware is OK, you have check the software now.
2. check the volume control adjustments setting and also check the settings in "sounds and settings" in" control panel".
if still there is problem, then the sound card needs to be checked.

Something has probably turned down the volume on your computer - if you double click the speaker icon by the computers clock it will bring up the volume controll. Ensure you can see both 'Volume control' and 'wave' sliders (if not, turn them both on through file>properties) - both of these need to be turned right up to get full volume.

could be a couple things there are some setting on your soundcard that sometimes misteriously lower all you need to do is turn them back up from the control panel or the cones in your spears could be wearing out and just not puting out as much volume

Apart from the obvious sound level controls in Windows .... my guess is thst your plugs and/or connectors are compromised by dust or corrosion.

I'll bet that if you reach behind the PC & twist or toggle the speaker jack the sound will immediately correct itself.
