This is unbelievable, but about 6 months ago I won an alarm clock! It was a really nice one, too.

Before that it was 25 years - one summer I worked in the snack shop of a camp, and the wrappers from Reese's had game pieces on them, so I made all the campers give the wrappers to me. I saved a stack THREE FEET HIGH and only won one lousy candy bar. Definitely not good odds.

Worst thing I ALMOST won: about 20 years ago McD's was playing that Monopoly game, but you didn't just get the pieces, you had to answer some trivia question then mark off just one answer to see if you won that piece. Well, I routinely would just guess at the answer and rub one off, then would rub all the others off to see what I would have won if I'd been right. And one day when I did that, I found that if I had TAKEN THE TIME to look up the right answer, I would have won THE BIG PRIZE, whatever it was at the time. I think it was a million dollars.
