i know its a crime...but i need detail as to why?

Yes Rape is a sexual offense because it is a crime, it's a horrible crime. It's so immoral, to take some thing that was not given to you to take. The crime of rape isn't about sex, it is about control/rage and anger for the rapist.
Additional details: It's pretty much as I stated above no one is allowed to take some thing from us that doesn't belong to them. No one has a right to violate another persons body by forcing a sexual act upon them, and maybe even beating the person into submission to get what they want.
Some times weapons are used during the commission of the crime of rape, so that can make the crime even more of a violent crime. The use of a weapon alone makes it a felony, so that alone can send the person to prison. Pointing a weapon at some one or even just brandishing a weapon is illegal act.
People have a right to feel safe and secure in their homes or where ever they are. I say people because it isn't always just women who are raped, men can be raped as well.

Rape is a felony crime in all US jurisdictions. In addition, there are classes of rape, from the most minor (statutory rape - where the parties may be consenting, but one of the parties is, by statute, not able to consent ... usually, because they're too young) to the most major (aggrevated rape - where there is not only forcible sexual battery, but bodily injury as well).
Rape is a violent crime that, in some jurisdictions, is answered with the death penalty. It's a horrible crime.

Of course it's a crime! It's just sad that in our day and age most women that claim rape get put under a microscope like they are at fault.

Its a crime, of course. A rapist forces a victim to do something that they dont want to do. violoation of rights.

but if ure under age n give consent its not rape

It also causes emotional damage, physical damage, and is just plain wrong. Wait, according to the Bible it's ok. This is why I don't believe in God too.
