I think that the celebrities listed are a partial blame for today's corrupt children. Yes, they are horrible role models and the media is consumed in them. I have no respect for celebrities that do illegal or crazy acts for attention or a boast in the tabloids. Its all about money to them. The media glorifies sex, alcohol, and to an extent drugs. Unhealthy body weights are accepted on both sides of the spectrum and written up as psychological problems that are eventually forgotten.

Now for the other part of the blame for today's corrupt children: the parents. Parents these days spoil their children. They give them whatever they want so they don't have to listen to them cry. Kids watch TV and play video games instead of playing outside or having good social interaction. Parents are also afraid to discipline their children. The parents these days are old enough to have been physically punished (usually spanking). They remember resenting their parents for it and do not want their children doing the same. But what this does is teaches the kids to do whatever they want without major repercussions. Just because you spank your child doesn't mean that you don't love them.

Parents are afraid of becoming overbearing, heartless adults that their children fear. So they become a child themselves. A parent can be a responsible adult and still have the child's respect and love. It is all a balance between discipline and fun. People today are afraid of messing up and just ignore the discipline.

With children growing up in broken homes full of divorce, lying, and cheating, it is extremely hard for them to grasp long-forgotten family values. They grow up to be teenagers with raging hormones, full of rebellion. Again, the parents are afraid to discipline their teens and let them run a muck. The influence of friends and the media only further destroy their values. Instead of naming the problem for what it truly is, parents, doctors, and others ride everything off as a disorder or disease. Depression and ADD are common ailments of age groups that 10 years ago had very little problems.

As these immoral teenagers grow up to be adults that make the same mistakes as their parents.

Bottom line, stay off the Rx drugs, off the TV, and off the Xbox. Play outside, face the consequences, and take the punishment you deserve.

The parents need to talk to their kids most deffinatly and not only once...
generations are getting into sex and drugs at younger ages. Not that all youngsters are that way, but more and more are. Just imagine what its going to be like in the next 10 or so years. Parents are already getting younger!
Celebs may influence some teens, but not as many as people make it seem.

I think if their parents were good parents instead of trying to be friends with them or worrying about jetting all over the world or making more money things would be different for these girls, but it's still no excuse, especially for Paris and Britney, their SUPPOSED to be adults, not the immature children that they act like.

personally it think it is a bit of the parents not making the kids mind them. in paris' case she was born into money and so that is what she knows-how to be spoiled. If today's girls look to these as their role models and actually think that they can be like them, it is their parents responsibility to straighten them out. If the parent tries and the teen rebels then I don't think it is their fault. If they just sit back and let their kid run the house... it is not a pretty thing to see. Kids need boundaries and rules and teaching to know what is right and what is wrong.

I know of SEVERAL little girls (age 11 & up) that want to be just like them & it's sad. Little girls, that age, are just trying to fit in & be cool & that's what they see as "cool". And, of course, parents don't "know anything about, being cool" parents are the "anti-cool"! They won't know how silly & rediculous those girls are until, they are older & it's too late to reverse the damage. One can only hope that, parents are instilling the right & wrongs of life at a much earlier age. But, even then, girls will still want to model themselves after what they see as cool. I just wish, the Paris's of the world, weren't so pathetic!!!

Wow, that was a little difficult to understand the first time through because of all the typos. I think there is a "check spelling" option before you post questions and answers!

I think it's a little of both. I think girls look up to these celebrities and since the media insists on making them #1 priority news, they get jammed down everyone's throats all day everyday, that's all anyone sees.

Some parents may not know how to talk to their kids about this kind of thing...it's getting so popular to grow up too fast.

I think they are bad role models which is sad, they have an awesome opportunity to inspire and teach young people. I don't blame their parent wholly, but agree they have had input, but these women are adults now and have to step up and accept some responsibilities for their own action.

I believe they are a product of their environment and their parents. These are young adults making poor choices for themselves and seem unable to cope with life. You can only put some of the blame on the parents, ultimately,it is up to the individual.

It just makes a parents job harder. The kids see these famous girls doing these things and it looks exciting.
If parents do their jobs, by talking to their children and keeping these images away from the kids the best they can, hopefully something will have sunk into their children and they will be okay,
That said though, you can do everything right by your kids, talk to them, spend happy quality time with them, all the things you are supposed to do, and still have them turn out to be all wrong.
