My dream is to be a sports talk radio host. What education requirements do I need? How could I best prepare myself?

I had that job for a few years some time ago.

For starters, remember that you have to be good on radio. Good use of the language, professional manner, good voice, etc. Knowing sports generally isn't enough.

Then again, you do have to know sports. These days, a strong point of view is a must, and the ability to present an argument well is a major plus.

In education, a college degree will help. And you need to work your way up, probably starting at a tiny station and moving up the food chain.

I'm glad I did it for a while, but I can't imagine going back to it again. Too much heat and not enough light these days.

I would first start off with doing stuff at school at there radio station and then move to a community college to see if they have any radio classes. Then you just have to practice by doing side jobs.
