Yes I agree with you whole heartedly, there are some sickos who need to be brought to task, and I would report them without any doubt what so ever, and if it's teenagers @r$ing around, then they need to be taught a few lessons in the manners department, drag them through the burning coals and freak them out, that's what they deserve, I sincerely hope that you reported the deranged danger to society.

No. Asking if someone would be happy if someone else died is not a crime. Sorry. By no stretch of the imagination is that a crime. And if youre really bothering the Secret Service with nonsense questions designed to provoke people like you on Yahoo! Answers, let me just say that they have better things to do with their time than investigate assasination-theory claims by ak6702.
Nobody on here is making death threats against the President that I know of.
If the question says "I'm going to shoot Bush tomorrow, should I use an uzi or a shotgun?". Then maybe I could understand reporting it. But just asking a question like you described is not a crime. Be careful how far you go with that mentality.

I think it is in bad taste to make death threats against anyone. I don't like the Clinton's but I don't want them harmed in any way. I think the majority of death threats aren't even from Americans. And the ones that are need to seek professional help right away.
To answer your question, yes I do!!

Though the mention of an assignation may seem to be
funny, so was the thought that terrorists could fly planes
in to the WTC. We have no idea who these people are
they could be terrorists and be taking a poll to see what
people thought. We have to take these remarks seriously,
not to be trouble makers but perhaps to be trouble stoppers.
I would normally just forwarded the link to the FBI and
let them investigate for any wrong doing, better safe than
sorry.
This applies to any President either Party, we all have our
own fruitcakes.

Well unless someone actually makes a direct threat, no crime has been committed. I did not see the ''Will you be happy if Bush was assasinated?" question you refer to, but unless someone says they have plans to carry that out, no crime has been committed. It is perfectly legal to say that you would be happy if that happened.
Also, I wouldn't worry about reporting anyone. If anyone makes a threat like that, ECHELON will pick it up anyway :)

I agree to some extent, they have no respect whatsoever. Yet, I think that these posters who profess such hatred are nothing more than cowards looking to do nothing more than antagonize and provoke others for the mere high they wish to receive. They're pitiful behind their keyboards and I feel sorry that they have nothing more in their lives. A very sad state of affairs, indeed.

You are correct. It is the law. I live on Cape Cod and back during the Clinton years, this sort of thing happened. While vacationing on the Vineyard, someone on a ferry was joking around, saying, "I'm going over to kill the President." He was overheard, reported and arrested.

You've gone off the deep end little one. Come back to reality, the Secret Service has a job to do and you playing with them doesn't make their life any easier. Consider getting a life. If you are so offended by the answers to questions, don't read them.

there are constant death threats to high profile people. the secret service doesnt have the time to investigate every frivolous threat.
ranting on an online message board is in itself not a threat that will be taken seriously.
ranting on an online message board in between sessions of fondling a fire arm on pennsylvania ave would be.
