Internet Router Problem?

Hi, I'm trying to connect to an online game that someone else in my house has connected to (and we are both using the same internet router) but we can't seem to connect. Is there a solution or is it just not possible to connect using hte same internet?

Most Routers have the tendency to block certain ports. Find out what ports your game uses and you have to forward those ports to your PC.

Just a warning, port forwarding DOES increase the likeliness of an outside attack.
