Neither play defense. Both are the worst defenders in MVP history. Both have a stacked supporting cast and won MVP based on their team regular season record rather than on the merrit of winning or going deep into playoffs. Both are chokers when in counts, such as in playoffs.

So which is the worst MVP in Basketball History?

Great question because I agree with you about both of those clowns and their inability to "D" up! I'd say Dink, woops, I mean Dirk is the worst MVP of all time because he really doesn't make his teammates better, while at least Nash can make stiffs like Shawn Marion into an All-Star and an Olympian. He (Marion) might be the most overrated player in the game today! He's played with either Nash or Kidd in every season except one, and he's never done squat in the playoffs or when it counts. Getting off a tangent, sorry. Anyway Nash is better than Dirk, so will give Nowitzki the LVMVP of all time.

For starters, you have to remember that MVP voting is done on the regular season only. So, even if neither one of the players you mentioned has won a title, it doesn't matter in terms of the balloting. If Stoudamire had been around last year or in a key game this year, the Suns might have been able to win a title ... and that's not really Nash's fault.

If you look at the list of MVP winners, which gets back to the original question, there aren't many dogs on it. Bill Walton probably had the least successful pro career of any of them, but injuries ruined his pro days. Just about everyone else is a Hall of Fame level player. Iverson might be a bit on the bubble, and we'll have to see about Nash and Nowitzki.

Neither.
Dirk may choke up every once in a while, but he was more clutch performances, and take over games in the playoffs AND. Sorry to say it but how many times has Nash made it to the finals? ZERO!
The Mavs got caught up in a series in which the exact coach had brought in and developed Nowitzki and basically coached the same players in the year he left (and not to mention Avery Johnson played for him the last time they were in the playoffs twelve years ago). He knew that team better than anyone else what do expect? It was just the wrong positioning at the right time.

First of all Steve Nash is the 2-time MVP. He deserved it both times. When they are voted as MVP it is because of what they do in the regular season. Its not decided from what they do in the playoffs. The playoffs don't count when it comes to MVP voting.

There is no such "WORST MVP" in the NBA... they will not be named MVP for nothing... I am no Nash or Nowitzki fan but i just can't stand why a lot of people are so pissed about them winning the MVP award. MVP award are based on votes and the people who votes are people who understand basketball a lot better than us... LOOK IN THE MIRROR AND TELL US WHAT YOU SEE :-)

Neither. Nowitzki was GREAT in the REGULAR SEASON. How come idiots on Y! Answers cannot get that through their enormously thick skulls? I've explained a trillion times. It is based on the frickin REGULAR SEASON. The ONLY reason the Mavs lost in round one, was because Nelson knew him inside-out, and therefore knew how to guard him. The worst MVP in basketball history....I'm not sure, but its DEFINATELY not Nowitzki or Nash....I guess outta those two, i have to choose Nash though...(by the way, in all of the close games of the series, Nowitzki was clutch...Hitting late threes and playing well all-round...However they lost both of those games, due to Baron Davis exploding in one, and Harris throwing the ball away in the other....)

I think you have named the 2. Quite frankly - MVP should be decided after a season - for results are what really matters, namely the playoffs. And I am sorry - but avg 15+ less points per game to me isnt an MVP - namely Nash's case and Nowitski becomes a marshmellow in playoffs.

Kobe is the best player - and the fact the Lakers even made it with a B rated team should have garnered him the award.

Disclosure - Knicks fan...

Definately Dirk Nowitzki in this one. Steve Nash has won it more times and still does play better D than Dirk. He scores only a few less points, but makes up for in it assists and steals. Dirk is definately the worst.

D-Wade??? I missed that, what year did he win the MVP?

Worst MVP ever = Bob McAdoo, Buffalo 1974-75

btw, Nash is a POINT GUARD, so scoring 15 is not a bad thing. You're forgetting about his 12 assists a game right?
