I did a PC Restore (which brought my computer back to out of the box condition). The problem is that the printer isn't installed now and I don't have the disc. I tried downloading the software from dell.com and for some reason it isn't working. I have the Dell Photo All-in-One Printer 924 and am running Windows XP. Can someone please tell me what I can do? I can't afford to buy another disc and my warranty expired so they won't even talk to me without payment.

I tired the links given and get all the way to the part where it detects printer, then it just shuts down and nothing happens. I can't find it anywhere on here.

Well, lets see...
The 1st thing to look at is the port the printer is attached to. Check the Device Manager, make sure there are no "bangs" next to the parallel or USB ports. If there is, you need drivers from dell (not for parallel, but possibly for USB).
Also, check the BIOS, to be sure the ports are enabled, even though you probably were never in there. Never hurts to look.
Make sure that you have all MS updates installed, too. You could be missing something, such as one of the .NET libraries, which your printer software may require.

Lastly, not to overlook the obvious, check all the connections to the printer (data & power) and that there's paper in the paper tray.

-best luck

I had sim problem recently. Restart PC with Printer connected. GO to start/search "printer wizard." This should run you through the plug n play setup. Otherwise, look for the update driver selection in the control panel. I'm still looking for it at the moment, I'll let you know if I find it. OR try the free driver link I found below.

Could you borrow the CD or buy it used? Check out the Dell Support site.
