For your PC to be OK, you have to protect it from viruses and hackers!
The virus is a small program that attach itself to other files from your computer and can harm your computer, by restarting it, freezing it or even by deleting your files or stealing your personal information.
To keep your computer safe from viruses you have to use an anti-virus program, like Norton, AVG, Kaspersky, Avast, Antivir, McAfee, Bit Defender. Some are free and others have trial versions.
Here you have some links to download the free versions of some of the best anti-virus programs, as well as other security tools:

There are retail stores in cities all over the world that sell anti-virus protection. Most all of them accept cash. In your home community some accept personal checks.

When you visit the store, take with you reference info ... what version of PC OS you have, how much memory, disk space, CPU speed etc., whether you have CD Rom, diskette drive, whatever, because some products have pre-requisites in small print on side of box.

Remember ... a computer without protection can soon become a pile of junk ... you need to have protection on it before you start using it.

If your PC used to be faster, or is acting strangely, it's probably infected with malware. Use the link below to learn more about "malware".

Then, you need to install: ONE Anti-virus (I use AVG free), ONE Firewall (Zone Alarm free), and Anti-spyware tools like: Windows Defender, Spybot, Ad-Aware, Spyware Blaster and cCleaner (free, use all 5 regularly).

Google for them, install them and learn how to use them (use Help TAB).

TIP: Last resort, back up (copy to CD / DVD / external hard drive) all personal data and do a Windows "Clean Install", get more info at (www.theeldergeek.com). The apps above can only clean up so much.

you do not need to purchase anything in order to get a decent virus protection. You can find several below

If you are on a budget,
then you'll have to use a free anti-virus.
they aren't that good, but sure.

AVG Home - www.grisoft.com
Avast - www.avast.com

if you can give me the name, i can give you a link to a removal tool from my website (if i have it) or from McAFee
