He seems well educated, and he seems like he would make an excellent president, and I definitely would vote for him, however, do you think that him being black will hurt his chances at being elected president?

Color has no bearing on ones ability to perform their job. It would likely be good for the country to have a person of color at the helm. Just not Obama, after all we have been through with this middle east sham I dont think we are ready to elect someone with his name. He is young however and in 2012 he might have a better chance. If there was the harsh choice between him and the Hildabeast I would vote for him. Another aspect is that perhaps a black president could also become subject to racial remarks when making an unpopular decision. I would hate to see such end up rekindling racism in some areas. If Obama is worthy of being president then in 4 years he will still make a good candidate. Right now it is too easy to look good as GW has caused a lot of anti Republican issues. All Democrats are enjoying easy targets without having to prove competence at dealing with real issues.

I think being black will boost his rating with some and cause a decline in ratings with other folks. Just depends how open minded people are.

He is a very charismatic speaker. I think he's great but wouldn't vote for him because he's so junior compared to everyone else. Let him get his feet wet for another 4 year and prove himself as a Senator.

i've got self belief further and further all people is commencing to comprehend the Obama presidency. he's not engaged on restoring our prosperity. he's extra drawn to de-arising the U. S. to cut back emissions. His loyalty is to the UN, not the U. S.. yet another 4 years may well be disastrous. The Republicans prefer to place us lower back on a direction to a stable destiny.

Sadly, many will probably vote for him BECAUSE he is black, rather than because they agreed with his ideas. There are going to be a lot of "firsts" voters this election, which are most likely going to screw up the elections.

No, not really. Probably more will vote FOR him because he is black than will vote against him.
If he looses, it will be because the electorate didn't like his message or thinks he won't represent what they want.

1--He is running against hilary klingon in the primary, so that will help him
2--He is only part Black, so it will only part way hurt him if he makes it to the general election
3--The republicans don't really have anybody great either,.
4--He does not have a great deal of experience, so that will hurt him more than his mixed racial background

Could be a marginal benefit if he proves to be a strong, substantive candidate. So far he's more image, persona, charisma, good voice, than policy, experience and strenght of leadership.

No! The small number of votes he loses to racists will be more than made up by people sympathetic to him.

Let's get real. Stop asking this question. A black man will NEVER be elected in this country. Too many racist people, like the jackass before me who wants to be Michael Richards. Probably works at McDonald's. Promoted from floor scrubber to toilet scrubber. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.

His race won't hurt. His ideas will. I read his book with hope, and left very disappointed and continued my search. He offered no policy solution only we should do something about that thoughts.
